And if you just arrived or want to expand your circle, you have surely wondered how to meet people in Valencia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Valencia has more inhabitants than ever, but are we really more connected?\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The city reached <strong>858,178 inhabitants as of January 1, 2026<\/strong>, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.valencia.es\/es\/-\/poblaci%C3%B3n-provisional-val%C3%A8ncia-2026\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.valencia.es\/es\/-\/poblaci%C3%B3n-provisional-val%C3%A8ncia-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">provisional municipal census data.<\/a> The previous official figure, validated by the INE for 2025, was 840,792 inhabitants. That is, in barely a year the municipal register has recorded more than 17,000 additional people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But behind every number there is a person.<br><br>Someone who arrived for work.<br>Someone who came to study.<br>Someone who moved looking for a new chapter.<br>Someone who arrived from another country.<br>Someone who simply decided that Valencia was the place they wanted to be.<br><br>And here an interesting question arises:<br><br><strong>If there are more and more of us, does it mean we are also more connected?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:1.5rem;font-style:normal;font-weight:800\">Valencia, an increasingly diverse city<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The data tells an interesting story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of the 858,178 inhabitants recorded in the provisional 2026 municipal census, <strong>181,140 have foreign nationality<\/strong>. That represents roughly one in five people currently living in Valencia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And diversity is not new, but it is increasingly becoming a part of the city's identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.valencia.es\/cas\/actualidad\/-\/content\/padr%C3%B3n-habitantes-val%C3%A8ncia-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2025 population data<\/a>, among the foreign nationalities with the largest presence were Colombia, Italy, Venezuela, Ukraine, China, and Russia, among others.<br><br>That means that when we walk through Valencia, we are not just sharing a city with hundreds of thousands of people.<br><br>We are also sharing the city with hundreds of thousands of different connections<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here is the paradox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can live in a city with hundreds of thousands of inhabitants and feel like you know very few people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can get on a crowded subway, work in an office full of colleagues, study in a classroom with dozens of people, or sit on a terrace full of tables... and still spend the day without having a truly new conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why <strong>Being surrounded by people and connecting with them are two different things.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The city may be crowded.<br>But not necessarily our social life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:1.5rem;font-style:normal;font-weight:800\">How to meet people in Valencia when starting from scratch<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For many people, arriving in a new city means starting practically from scratch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">New neighborhood.<br>New job.<br>New routines.<br>New places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And also a question that often takes a back seat:<br><strong>Who am I going to share all this style=\"font-size:1.5rem;font-style:normal;font-weight:800\">Dinners with strangers in Valencia: a table can be the beginning of something<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is
