We are a community that exists to facilitate encounters between real people, without haste or discomfort, in group experiences with reservations in selected restaurants. POPULIT was born from the need to put a little brake on the excess of the digital world, and return to something essential, to look each other in the eyes and meet new people face to face.
From brunches, lunches, snacks and dinners, to special thematic experiences (movies, music, reading, etc.). Each experience lasts between 2 and 3 hours, depending on the activity. You can also find combined plans, for example, dinner + escape room; lunch + wine tasting.
The experiences take place in restaurants that we select and that must exceed our quality standards. They usually last about 2 hours, although Themed Experiences can last longer. They are confirmed when at least 3 people have booked the same experience, the restaurant confirms availability and you receive a notification.
For the moment reservations can be made in Madrid, although we will soon enable it for other cities. There are many of you who are writing us from other places! 😊
No. We are a community of people that promotes real encounters, face to face, at group tables in restaurants, enjoying the great gastronomy we have. From there, friendships, projects, and of course, love, of course, can arise.
In the App you select the experience you like the most (list or map view), choose your table and confirm your place. You can also create a new table with your language, age or theme preferences.
The tables are for 3 to 6 people to encourage close conversations. You can go alone or with a companion.
In the App you will be able to explore and book different weekly or thematic plans, in restaurants that exceed our quality standard. The App will offer you tables with like-minded people as a priority. In addition, you will be able to know clues about others beforehand if you wish. When you arrive you will say a password that the App will give you and you will be taken to your table. The whole experience is guided, safe, risk-free and coordinated with the restaurant.
No, there is no risk of you attending alone. The tables are with a minimum of 3 people. Otherwise, it does not take place and you will be refunded. And your personal data such as name, surname, phone, email, etc. are never visible to the rest of the people in the App.
We don't want superficial encounters, or for this to be a wedding table with 10 people where you don't talk to most of them. That's why a table of 3-6 people is ideal. That way, the conversations flow, it goes deeper and allows you to really get to know each other. That's what it's all about. Prefer quality over quantity.
There is no set dress code. Most people choose a casual look, but come as you feel comfortable and true to your style.
Our algorithm will propose you tables of 3 to 6 people, according to your affinities or interests and in your age range (+/- 5 years old), so the conversation flows naturally. You can also join tables open to all ages.
Before the meeting, you can discover some clues about the other attendees in a fun way. You will have to select the other person's chair (profile picture) and scratch with your finger on the information box and you will discover their sex, hobbies, among other clues, but the essential is always discovered at the table. And total peace of mind, your personal data is private and will never be shown to anyone.
From the App, choose the experience you want (list or map view), select a table and confirm your place. If you see a table with people (with chairs), just enter the tab and reserve your place. If you prefer to create a table on the date, time and restaurant of your choice, select an empty table and the App will create a new one for you. You will configure it to your liking: language, in your age range or open to all ages. Then people will join your proposal.
Each table indicates the language (Spanish, English or both). If you create a table, you choose the criteria.
Of course! You can come with a companion to the weekly and thematic Experiences. After finalizing your reservation, the App will offer you to “go with a companion”. Send the link and you're done. The next site will be blocked for 30 minutes. Also, if you are a new user, you will get a bonus of extra POPs after attending the experience.
The payment covers the organization and coordination, your safety, the management with the restaurant so you can enjoy the experience. The food and drinks you consume are paid directly at the chosen place. In the App you can pay with your credit or debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or use your POPULIT Wallet if you have a balance.
The POPULIT wallet is your balance within the App. It allows you to pay for experiences, buy POPs and take advantage of promotions. You can load it with a credit or debit card, and also receive refunds for cancellations within the established time frame, plus you get extra money when you top it up if you exceed a certain amount!
POPs are points you can use to lower the price of reservations, unlock images of Profile Chairs or discover clues about other attendees. You earn them by attending experiences, inviting new users, going with companions who register or by purchasing them in the App.
The POPULIT wallet is your balance within the App. It allows you to pay for experiences, buy POPs and take advantage of promotions. You can load it with a credit or debit card, and also receive refunds for cancellations within the established time frame, plus you get extra money when you top it up if you exceed a certain amount!
The chairs represent people and we use them to encourage more natural connections without photo bias, we want the magic to be in discovering people in the moment. You can customize your Profile Chair by choosing from the options available in the App and unlock new ones with your POPs. Choose a chair that defines you in some aspect 😉.
You can do this from your Profile, by clicking on the Likes and Hobbies section.
The same day of the experience you will receive an access key in the App. It will be on the screen where the table appears. You just have to say it when you arrive at the restaurant and they will indicate your table.
In the My Plans section you can see your reservations, click on one to cancel.
If you cancel up to 48h before, we will refund the amount to your account or wallet. After that time, there is no refund. If the reservation is cancelled by the restaurant you will receive a refund as well.
